If you excavation for your foundations or pipes or cable is near by another building/structure then you may need to serve notice and give plans, and details of the depth and width of your planned excavation.

When carrying out a loft conversion it is normal to have to engage with your neighbours and serve the correct Party Wall notices if you will be doing any of the following
- Inserting beams into the Party Wall to facilitate a loft conversion.
- Exposing the neighbour’s property by removing sections of the Party Wall.
- Raising the Party Wall.
- Roofing works, including fitting flashings
